European worker traders got all their slaves from west Africa since it was a closest place to a finish users in a latest world. Freight costs were really high. Also distribute of a slaves died upon a approach opposite a Atlantic. Taking them from East Africa was only not practical. Arab worker traders did pick up slaves in East Africa.
