I’ve regularly wondered because in Australia a seasons proceed upon a 1st of each third month as against to many alternative countries we know of which proceed upon a 21st of each third month. Eg. Summer in Australia starts upon a 1st of December. However winter in a Northern hemisphere doesn’t proceed until a 21st of December. Shouldn’t summer proceed upon a 21st of Dec as well? Are there any alternative countries which do this as well? And if so why? Which is a scold date?

Australia assumingly uses meteorological seasons rsther than than celestial seasons. The December-February duration is a coldest (or warmest) 3 monthly calendar months of a year, as well as so from a continue standpoint that’s a winter (summer) season. The normal seasons have been formed upon a Sun’s strong suit in a sky; a dates have been rather non-static year to year as well as solemnly becoming opposite due to precession of a equinoxes.
One complement is no some-more "right" than a other; they’re only formed upon opposite sets of observations. If you’re meddlesome in continue patterns, a meteorological clarification is some-more appropriate; for celestial work, a normal clarification is better.
