We’ve been formulation the prolonged (8 month) outing to live/work in Indonesia. However, there has not long ago been the "travel warning" released for which location. Hi,
Apart from what we review above, we would similar to to supplement a little alternative thing.
1. Make certain we live in protected area. Most expariates live in Kemang, appartments in Thamrin/sudirman, Menteng.
2. Dont display jewelery or money when shoppings.
3. Dont speak to strangers. (In parking area, on foot in malls)
4. Take ONLY "Blue bird" or "Silver bird" taxi. That is a usually cab user which runs with responsibility. (in my opinion).
5. Must suffer a food!!!!(gado gado – Jakarta character salad with peanut sauce, soto betawi as well as most more)
6. Keep a puncture series with we in wallet or anyplace which we move along in every day activity.
7. Preferably to have locals with we at your convenience we go somewhere some-more "adventurous".

U can come to Indonesia anytime, though keep clever when a little moslem you do a little proof upon a street.. i dont know because most moslem in indon hatred western, specifically americans..

Hi there! I’ve been to Jakarta final Nov til December. generally, the a protected place to visit/live/work. we roamed the streets though fright solely when channel the streets, though we got used to it eventually. in the generation of my stay there, we didn’t have any unfavourable incident. people have been good though usually couple of know how to verbalise english so improved sense the little simple Bahasa Indonesia. Its fun as well as engaging experience. Have the good trip!

If you’re starting to Jakarta: Like all collateral cities, a confidence is a tip one. Thanks to past bombings as well as incidents, Jakarta is rapt 24/7.

I was in Jakarta for Yuletide as well as New Year. Yes, there have been regularly fears of something bad is starting to happen. But we consider the authorities have been really good. If we go to any selling centre, bureau buildings, hotels, etc there’s regularly the confidence check.
I would go. Indonesia is the geat plave to live & work.
