Why did a Philippines got absolved of many Spanish influences solely for Catholicism?

Even difficult a little Spanish change is still benefaction in a Philippines, we assimilate which many of it has been erased, as well as is not manifest in a every day life.
But Catholicism is still overwhelmingly a many renouned religion.
Why has Catholicism turn such a large partial of multitude in a Philippines, though not alternative Spanish traditions?
@ragdefen: Yes we was often referring to a language.
That explains alot.
But what about alternative influences similar to food, humanities or architecture? Was Spain ever an critical change in a Philippines, or still is?
